Gasoline Conservation

What are some things you can do to conserve gasoline? The obvious answer is to drive less. Try car-pooling with someone you work with. Instead of making two or three strips to the local convenience store, make one trip to your local supermarket. You'll probably save even more with lower prices. You know you do pay for the "convience" of the convenience store don't you?

Another way to conserve gasoline is to take turns with the other parents in your neighborhood driving and picking up the kids for sporting games and practices. I know we all live busy lives these days, but don't just drop the kids off and drive back home, sit and watch their practices. Take a book to read, or socialize with some of the other parents. You could easily save a few dollars a week using this tip.

Conserving gas by using the air conditioner. Yes, you heard right. I don't remember where, but there was a study done and the results were that for a typical car, using your air conditioning at 45MPH and above, was more fuel efficient that driving with the windows down. And obviously, below 45MPH, it is more fuel efficient to drive with the windows down and leave the air conditioner turned off.
